We continue to consult with many clients, including some well known financial services groups, developing generational diversity strategies which enable them to get the bets from all generations. Why are they working on this right now? The reasons they give include:
- Getting better consumer insight and product innovation
- Cost saving - adopting new world of work practices which saves on facilities cost
- Communicating better with key audiences - usually Gen Y and Z
- Attract, engage and retain the talent you need, whatever their generation
- Gain competitive advantage through the networked economy
- Improve knowledge management
- Improve cross generational team working
In one particular case, we have surveyed and interviewed staff across Europe, and armed with that insight, have developed and tested an overarching generational diversity strategy to release potential improvements in collaboration and team work, as well as ensuring they have the best possible Gen Y consumer insight.
We have developed tools and processes to quickly assess the areas you need to focus on to create a generational diversity strategy. We can then guide you as you test and evaluate the strategy and implement initiatives to deliver it.
If you want to explore how a coherent Generational Diversity Strategy in your business can give you distinct competitive advantage, contact Simon Walker on +44(0)20 7127 4741

The talentsmoothie team have been busy speaking at events in the UK and Europe this autumn. Recent events include a keynote at the Learning and Development in Broadcasting conference at BAFTA, diversity week workshops for a major bank and masterclasses at Henley Business School.
“You delivered a fantastic day with a good balance of theory, real stories and discussion. Please find your evaluation results attached which speak for themselves – 4.37 is an exceptionally high overall score for a Henley Partnership event!
Thank you for putting together an excellent event and leaving our members ‘fully Gen Y’d up’, so to speak…!!! I hope we can work together again in the future.”
